I also liked the reveal codes window in good old WordPerfect... but it seems
OpenOffice.org isn't made along the same lines, and it isn't so easy to
include this feature.
Navigator can help you out for things you want to know about the file you're
working on.
You can also make OpenOffice.org show paragraph marks, page breaks etc.
Some people are working on reveal codes macros:

I am for adding reveal codes to OOo. I have tried the macro and tough
it does work, it isn't as good as reveal codes being integrated into the
document.
