And it is important not to loose/forget the password because there will be no way to recover the file content without the password.
To password protect a Calc file for new files 1. open Calc 2. create the file 3. select File|Save... from the menu 4. write a name for the file in the File name box 5. click in the box next to 'Save with password' so that a check mark is there 6. click the 'Save' button 7. enter a password (it doesn't say here but the password needs to be FIVE characters or more) 8. click the OK button for existing files 1. open Calc 2. open the file 3. select File|Save As... from the menu 4. write a name for the file in the File name box (the current file name will already be filled in, if you want to keep the name the same leave it as is) 5. click in the box next to 'Save with password' so that a check mark is there 6. click the 'Save' button 7. enter a password (it doesn't say here but the password needs to be FIVE characters or more) 8. click the OK button 9. if you didn't change the file name (optional in step 4) you will get a warning that the file already exists and asking if you want to replace it, click Yes >From this point forward any time you edit the file you will only need to click save to save your changes. You won't be prompted for the password to save changes. You will only be prompted for the password when you open the file. p.s. - please send your questions to the list, [email protected], not to my email address, thank you.
