A friend has pointed me in your direction!
Firstly I dont really understand what open office is
nor X11, wich I understand I would need if downloading
to my Mac.
Now I dont understand alot of computer/software
terminology so I found it difficult to work out if
this product will do what I need and what I need to
make the product work!- if you get me!
I have been offered some work inputting data on
Microsoft Access (a version of which is not available
for the mac, as far as I can work out). So can I run
Access or Access compatible programme on the Mac via
open office?
So a few questions...
If I can, what do I need?
Will it be able to handle large files?
Are there any obstacles I will need to overcome? ie.
will there be any glitches I need to know about in
sending the data back to the University who are
operating Access on their PC's?
Please help or I will end up forking out lots of dosh
to get a laptop and access programme!!
