To remove numbering:
o  Click in the paragraph from which you want to remove numbering or 
select all the relevant paragraphs.
o  Go to Format | Bullets and Numbering... or right-click | 
Numbering/Bullets... .
o  Click the Remove button at the bottom of the dialogue box.

Next time this happens, use Edit | Undo or Ctrl+Z to remove the 
automatic numbering as soon as it appears.  To turn it off 
altogether, go to Tools | AutoCorrect... | Options and remove the 
tick from "Apply numbering - symbol: *".

No.  OpenOffice is a free product and support of that sort is not available.
