Had some issues with the install of OOo on to a vista laptop...I had downloaded the software and it was on the system but did not appear in the all programs tray nor would it run..
What I did was go to java.com and downloaded the latest version of java which is needed by vista..I then reinstalled the OOo software using the wizard..I went to the repair software and clicked that and went thru the steps..takes a while so have a cuppa coffee or you favorite beverage while this is happening..Oh and reboot your computer after the install is complete and it should now work..
