(in addition to RegEx advice you got already)
Novell's build of OpenOffice includes those operators, so you could use
that.

I also would suggest voting for 
http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=35579 
so that Sun's OpenOffice gets those operators too.
