Good Afternoon All
And a very happy Xmas to everyone and particularly all you good folks
who so freely and generously give of your time and expertese to offer
help to those of us who need it.
Recently I was pointed towards the User Guides and Tutorials: they
are so good. Even just lurking, I learn so much reading learned
replies every day. Thank you all most sincerely.
To my subject ... Problem files.
Using Comodo and Proactive Defense I periodically review and remove
the files that it cautions need looking at. Having just done that, I
was astonished within 48 hours to find:
c:\documents & Settings\..\Temp\otlagipy.exe
c:\documents & settings\..\Application
Data\OO.org2\user\uno_packages\cache\stamp.sys
I decided to find them and take a look: astonishingly the first one
had apparently disappeared ... I think that was when I shut down
Firefox but cannot be certain!
The second was present but \uno_packages\ was empty and \stamp.sys
when viewed with an editor consisted of the single character <1> . I
take it that was there to switch something on in the registry which
was otherwise off.
I did have an unsuccessful go at installing the British English
dictionary within that period.
I've googled and found no information on these files ... remarkable in itself.
Can anyone suggest what they might be and particularly why the first
one, that .exe should 'disappear'?
Yours aye
Ike Dawson
