Cor, are any improvements in the way Impress deals with pps files scheduled
for 3.0 ? My limited experience seems to indicate that when one opens pps

separately. Or perhaps I'm missing something ?...

A couple of days ago, I received a PowerPoint file with music. The
music played continuously. I'm running the 64 bit Linux version of
OpenOffice on OpenSUSE 10.3.
Interesting... perhaps Henri & I should send you a copy of a pps that we
spent the past week getting to play in linux 2.3.1. 'bout drove us (me
anyway) crazy. Still can't get the pps to play & had to extract the
sound file to get it to work in Impress. Not only that, but the original
pps w/sound was only 2.8Mb - saving as an odp put it at 15.7Mb + the
622.5K mp3 file that need to be converted to a wav that expanded to 4.9Mb.
Did you install the Java Media Framework?
I had to do this to get sound to work in Impress on Linux.
This is the issue when people respond. It works in Windows but not in
Linux.
I have yet to make a presentation that can be played in PowerPoint with
sound though.
