You need to enable a Hebrew keyboard layout. How else to you type in
Hebrew in other applications?

In Linux KDE it's in Kcontrol under Local and Disability settings ->
Keyboard Layouts. For Macintosh, Windows, and Gnome you should ask on
their respective mailing lists.
