I'm not so sure this is an OOo problem. I also use Windows XP Pro, SP2
with an always on connection, and the system locks up periodically. This
was occurring even before I started using OOo. My solution is to restart
the computer at least once a day. As long as I do that, I have very few
problems.

I have created several tables and have been back several times to add
new tables and/or edit the existing ones, as this is a
work-in-progress. At the moment it looks like all my work has been
flushed down the drain.
I am using OOo 2.3 running under Windows XP SP2.
If any of you can suggest how I might get my tables back, I would be
much obliged.

When I had this problem I tore my hair out for a while (whilst
checking my backups), then rebooted, and my tables miraculously returned.
