Hello

A colleague downloaded openoffice version 1.1.4 for me and I've been using it successfully but would like to update it - I'm afraid of downloading anything which will upset my system - please can you guide me.

Thanks

LeeVine

The latest version is 2.3.1. It's free. Go to www.openoffice.org and click the big green "Get openoffice.org" button, then follow your nose. I assume you are using Windows; if not please tell us what you are using because the following comments may not apply. On Windows, any 2.x version will sit happily alongside your old 1.1.4 version. So download and install version 2.3.1 and then, when you are happy with it, you can delete (Control Panel>Add/Remove programs) the old version. Removing the old program will *not* delete your documents.

You may want to check the System Requirements (linked to from the download page) just to ensure you have enough disk space.
