Having a problem, thoughts?
It would be nice to know what your problems are. If we do not know
what you have done, how do we know what to tell you? You might have
already tried what we would suggest.
Having said all that try this. Highlight the cells you want to copy.
The use Control+Space+V to Paste Special them into Kwrite. Select
unformated text as you option.

Thanks for the reply.
Well, ... I tried "paste special as you and another person advised.
It seemed unusual that I would paste prior to copying, but, when you
don't know, you follow instructions. I then got a message saying that I
am trying to paste on top of existing data (my ss), so I selected and
copied, then went to write, created a new doc, but the paste special
option was not on the right click menu. I also tried kwrite, same no
'paste special'.
Obviously, I am missing something.
Or perhaps we did explain ourselves very well. I seemed to have left off
one step.
1) Highlight the cells in the spreadsheet.
2) Use Control+C to copy the text. (This places the information in the
clipboard.)
3) Open a new document in Write.
4) Use the Paste command (Control+V) in Kwrite to past the information into
it.
These four steps worked when I just copied cells from one of my speadsheets
into Gedit which is similar to Kwrite. You probably will have to move the
data around some.
Or, you could save the speadsheet as a text(.csv) file. File > Save As Change
the File type from OpenDocument spreadsheet (.ods) to Text (.csv). It is a
dropdown list. Kwrite should be able to open this file.

That did it. The difference between copy and paste vs. ctrl-c and
ctrl-v (which probably came from wordstar!) is that copy paste is done
in OOo and the other is done outside OOo.
Thanks for the advise!
