That depends - since a Base file could be connecting to any number of
different data sorces.
For example if you created a Base file to read CSV text files and they
can not be found, or a Calc sheet.
When you open the file, look in the lower left hand corner of the window
frame. It tells you the type of datasource.
What does it show there?
