I use Office 2007 for my work everyday and I have a template folder ....called "work template". That template has multiple paragraph's for my day to day word documents for estimates etc.
In order to get my work templates to work on my laptop I had to drop the content of "work template" into the "Normal.dot" folder in microsoft word. Then when Microsoft Word 2007 opens the page loads as normal and my template is found on the top task bar and is simply called "add ins".............When I click on add ins it opens my work template for me. When I purchased an Asus laptop to use on the train going to work it came with "Openoffice" pre-installed and I am impressed with it. The problem I have is that there is no"Normal.dot" folder in Openoffice...so I cannot use my template as I have nowhere to drop the contents of the work template folder into.!!! Is there an equivalent "Normal.dot" folder in Openoffice....................or if not do you have any idea how I can get my template to open and work in openoffice. I have imported the template through the normal route in Openoffice but whilst the page opens it is headed work template...it does not say "addins" on the top task bar and none of the template functions operate at all I would be truly very grateful any ideas Terry
