I've been using Open Office for about a month and so far I like it.
One thing that really annoys me is that when I am looking through a
document and I click on certain sections I keep getting "bullets and
numbering" or "table" pop-up menus and they constantly appear right
where I am reading. I've searched all over the help pages and the
forums and I can't figure out how to make them go away. Any ideas?
You can drag these toolbars around: it may be that you can put them
somewhere on the screen where they will cause you less inconvenience
when they do appear. One workaround may be to drag these toolbars into
the toolbar area at the top of the screen, so that they appear there
when they do.
That is one solution. You can also simply turn them off. When one pops
up that you do not want to see, go to View > Toolbars and remove the
checkmark that is beside the toolbar you do not want to see. This will
remove the floating or docked toolbar, and it will not pop up again
unless you specifically request it.
