[users] How to open Microsoft Works Vs 8 .wps documents

I have Microsoft Woks, vs 8. OpenOffice will open the spreadsheets  (.wks), but 
not the text documents (.wps). I do not have MS Word. There must be a lot of us 
that have this problem.
