I'm writing to ask if you can help me with a solution. I am registered
with OpenOffice. When I originally downloaded OpenOffice I was able to
save files. The "Banana bread recipe.doc" has the correct "picture
symbol" in front, and .doc extension after the file name.
"Scotch Scones (13.3 KB)" was saved after downloading 2.3. When I attach
files to e-mails, they appear as WordPad, unable to be read.
I uninstalled OpenOffice from my computer and reinstalled OpenOffice
2.3. Files are not saving as they originally were. The picture symbol is
not the same and they do not have an extension after the file name.
Today I saved "Scotch Scones doc file (70.0 KB)" as a doc file. It does
not have a .doc extension.
"Scotch Scones odt file (12.8 KB)" does not have an .odt extension.
When you use Save as, verify automatic file name extension is selected.
