I rather get the impression you want the pictures to be anchored to the /text/ not the /cell/, so they move with the data - correct? If so, you would seem out of luck :-(

Yes, your test does seem to confirm the behavior I am seeing, with the exception being that in ways that are a little more complex then you are describing, if there is a lot of graphic data in many cells, and you delete intervening rows, some of the graphics (but not all, and I have yet to figure out a way to predict) seems to be preserved and show up in cells that are still on the sheet.

Yes, it does seem intuitive to me that graphics "anchored" to a cell should behave like anything else (text or formulas) in a cell. It is fine with me if I could anchor the graphics to a piece of text in the cell (an option that does not seem to be provided) because that way, presumably, if the text moved due to a sort or deletion or insertion, the graphics would follow it.

If indeed I am out of luck, on this project I am out of luck in a very big way. I guess I should look at the bug reporting system.

Thanks.
