1) You didn't have to purchase OpenOffice. It's a free download from
www.openoffice.org.
2) You'll have to provide more information about your problem. Are
these Word documents you've opened before? Are they the new .DOCX
format? If so, OpenOffice can't open them. Are you getting any error
messages? Are you clicking on the file or attempting to open from
within OpenOffice? Until we know what steps you're taking and what
results, it's hard to solve your problem.
