Thank you. I spend more time with M$ Office and am used to hitting the
email icon. Open Office has an Icon too. Is it for some thing else or is
there more to the setup?

The icon will send the document as an ISO standard ODF file, which is fine, if the recipient can open it. Using File > Send gives you other options, such as Word document or PDF.

Some comments about using the e-mail button on the toolbar.

1) If the document is already saved with a particular file extension, ie doc, the e-mail button will attach the file as is. 2) If the document is unsaved, it will use the default file extension in Options|Load/Save|Always Save as dilaog. So if one was to set this option to a MS Office file extension, then the e-mail button will send the file as MS Office file.
