Hi.
I have some problems with the Open Office 2.3.1. The welcome screen,
where it asks for my name, initials and if I want to register appears
everytime i turn my computer on and off, I also experience a lot of
problems when i open docuements, the whole program freezes, and also
when exiting the program, it freezes.
The best solution i came up with was to reinstall, or do a repair, but
none of this will work. During the setup i experience an error message
tha says this:
Internal Error 2203 C:Windows\Innstalller\a9192.ipi-2147287035
Happy for tips and hints, please!
Best regards
Paul
There is a well known bug in the Windows Installer that corrupts the
registry and prevents re-installation and/or uninstallation and/or
installation of new versions of software - not just OpenOffice.
Microsoft has a free fix: <http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301>. Use
this to remove OpenOffice. A new version, 2.4, has just been released.
You may want to try it.
Make sure the Quickstarter is not running before you try to remove
OpenOffice. If it is running there will be an OpenOffice icon in the
System Tray. Right click it and choose Exit.
