Hello Harold,
While playing with sentences in Writer as part of a previous thread I
found what I think is a bug. I'd appreciate comments before filing an
issue.
I'm using OOo 2.4 on Win XP Pro. I have a simple Writer document
consisting of 4 sentences in a single paragraph like this:
This is a sentence. This is sentence number two. This is a third.
This is the fourth sentence in this document.
If I position the cursor at the beginning of the *second* sentence
and triple click, the sentence is selected. If I now press the Cursor
Right key, the cursor moves to the beginning of the *third* sentence.
So far so good. If I now triple click, the *second* sentence is
selected again. I think this is a bug. I think the third sentence
should have been selected. Shouldn't the "point of focus", or
whatever it's called, have moved with the cursor and thus be at the
start of the third sentence?
I do not think this is a bug. When you are pointing towards the second
sentence, your mousepointer is in the vicinity of the second sentence.
After triple clicking, you selected the whole sentence and perform
some action (change font or whatever). By going to the right with
arrow right, you move to the end of the sentence, ie. also to the
beginning of the third sentence, but your mousepointer is still at the
second sentence and by triple clicking you chose again the second
sentence. This is indepent of which program you use, clicking with the
mouse is a different story compared to moving around in a text with
arrows.
Hope this clarifies.
Best regards
Yes. I misunderstood.
