I don’t believe that versioning is flaky in general. But you haven’t
indicated your operating system, version of operating system, and
version of OpenOffice.org.
Possibly send a new request with a header something like “Versioning
fails in OOo Writer 2.3 on Ubunto Gnome” with version numbers might
attract someone whose had a similar problem.
