I am evaluating Open Office for suitability in my non-profit small library

I have Microsoft Windows XP 2000, with Microsoft Proofing Tools for input

Does Open Office database cater for non-english spelling, and how?
Thank you

Hope this helps.
Harold is correct with his description regarding the word processor
module in OpenOffice.org.
However to your question, data entry controls in OpenOffice.org do not
automatically perform any spell checking functions.
It would be possible to implement something using scripting and all the
features Harold touched on are available via the application built in
scripting engine and API.
Before I tell you that this would be easy or not though, can you tell me
how you would want it "catered for" as you put it?
Thanks
Drew
