Even IF you install a NEW enterprise using M$ software, there is NO
waranty it works...

This is WHY enterprises pay specialists WHO design the IT infrastructure
of an enterprise. This is MY Job as Debian GNU/Linux Consultant.

And telling peoples only "that they can not gave a waranty" should
consider to tell the peoples about problems under Windows by creating
an new infrastructure.

Note: Last year I have had a customer which has invested in 2004 over
1.3 million Euro into a designed IT-Infrastructure based on M$
      products and Oracle.

Last year this customer was coming to me since I am the only
Debian GNU/LInux Consultant in Strasbourg, whether under Linux
(!!!) he would have the same problems...

After analyzing and consulting some external specialised enter-
prises I have gotten it. Software costs arround 60.000 Euro
and "some" individual adaptions 400.000 Euro (some month of
      coding)

In summary, arround a third of the price for M$ based products
and only 4-5 month of coding and not like under Windows 3 years
      for NON-Working Closed Source Software.

So, do you have read the EULA from M$? -- tHERE IS no WARANTY for the
software called Microsoft Windows!

Why do peoples think, M$ and Co gove a waranty that it works?

I think, peoples are discuraged about GNU/Linux, because WE TELL OUR
CUSTOMERS THE TRUTH and they do not want to see, that M$ and Co lie over
all...

And then if someone (a Linux-Enterprise) tell peoples, there is no
waranty that it works, they say: "GNU/Linux is crap!"

Because:    Server != Workstation

I would not even TRY to run my OWN PostgreSQL database of over 1 TByte
on a Windows machine and a hand full of my customers have PostgreSQL 8.2
Databases from over 20 TByte and File Servers with 200 TByte. This is
the Business wher M$ and Co Kicked-Off.

Oh, there are even solutions where Foxpro can be replaced by PostgreSQL
and a commercial Front-End similar to Foxpro... Price is arround 600 €.

:-)

This can easyly be switched because there is already software runing
under GNU/Linux for it which is effectivly NOT CHEAPER then the M$
software.

Security and Certification IS expensice.

> every scientific institution, every computerized shoe factory should

The SOftware under GNU/Linux would be not more expensive and there are
already PROFESSIONEL productions software for such case.

The "counterparts" have to be examined...

No clue about it...
