Hi,

I do not know to whom to write about this one, so I am taking a chance in joining this list and asking here.

Each time I have downloaded Open Office (and, even Star Office), things start going well. I can save the downloaded file where I wish. I can place the decompressed files where I wish. Then I have the problem with the installer. The installer does not allow me the choice of where I wish to have Open Office placed.

I specifically have more than one partition on my harddrive for the purpose to have those files necessary for the running of the system and the booting of the system, and those programs requiring to be placed on the C: partition, to be on the C: partition (I am using MS Win XP SP3). I want to have all other programs placed on my D: partition. For example, since an office suite is NOT essential in running a system, I was able to place MS Office on my D: partition, in the same manner as I was able to place the anti-virus and anti-spyware programs on the D: partition -- through the installation process. In all those installations I was given a choice of where I wished the product to reside.

I was never given such a choice with Open Office nand with Star Office. I must presume that the same installer program is used for both. I do not want Open Office nor Star Office on my C: partition. Any suggestions, short of removing and abandoning Open Office?

You have to do a custom install to specify where you want it installed.
