Hi

I have a little Excel program that works on several macros and I want to add
some more to it. However, I cannot get it to work in Open Office Calc. I
have been working with this for several years on and off and my brother and
I finally got the pedigree section to work right. However, when I bring over
to OP, I cannot get any thing to work like I wish.

Here are the macros. I can attach the sheets if you all wish.

For security reasons the software that manages the message traffic on this list normally strips attachments. It did that to yours. If you want to present "exhibits" you'll have to upload them to a web site somewhere and provide the necessary links. If you don't have a convenient site you may use https://www.dropboks.com/ with account name "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" and password "storage".

Unfortunately OpenOffice can't process the macros written for Microsoft Office. The two macro languages are different. I think you have three options:

- translate the macros (or find someone to do it for you) from VBA (Microsoft's Visual Basic for Applications language) to OpenOffice Basic (or to any other language that OpenOffice supports - Java for example). A good guide to OpenOffice Basic is at http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Documentation/BASIC_Guide

- Buy Sun's StarOffice at http://www.sun.com/software/staroffice/index.jsp which has VBA support

- Buy (?) the Novell version of OpenOffice.org, which also has VBA support, at http://tinyurl.com/6jos8y or preview this link at http://preview.tinyurl.com/6jos8y The reason for the "?" is that I'm not sure if this is free or if you have to pay for it; you certainly have to register with Novell.
