You probably mean "statically linked". /bin/ls usually is dynamically linked. At least in any standard distro... Statically linked executables aren't very common. Anyway, please post the output of ldd /bin/ls and ldd /vz/100/root/bin/ls to help us help you. By the way, are you sure the path is correct? Shouldn't it be /vz/ROOT/100 instead of /vz/100/ROOT?
