Hey Danny,

Before you sysprep the VM did you make sure to add the floppy drive, so that
Windows installs the driver? I ask because this is the step that I tripped me
up when first started building my Windows templates. In the run once box just
check the Attach Floppy. Make sure it shows up in the VM before sysprep.

I'm simply using the GUI,

First, I created a vanilla windows 2012 VM which I sealed, sysprep'ed and
shutdown.
Made a template of this VM which I later try to deploy.

  *   Insert VM name
  *   Initial Run - [v] Use Cloud-Init/Sysprep
  * Set the same VM name to be VM Hostname
  * Populate Domain field with my domain name, same goes for Organization
Name, Organization Name fields.
  *   Configure Admin Password.

That's about it, when I deploy the VM, hostname & password I've inserted in
Cloud-Init/Sysprep are getting set but guest os is not joining the domain.

I wonder where do I set credentials allowing OS to be domain joined?
Is it inherits the user I've used to login to oVirt engine?

Thanks

Can you please post us, which parameters exactly you filled in?
Maybe print screen or if you are using REST API so which command you use.

Also can you please ensure you're windows machine is correctly joined in the AD.
You should also check the log and see if the parameters are indeed send in the
log,
also check the event log in the windows if user will at least try to login.
If not, then it's most probably a bug, so please open it here:

Hi,

I can't seems to fully understand the procedure of joining guest Windows
machine to AD domain using the tool-set provided by oVirt-Engine.
I've successfully created and sealed a template.of Windows 2012R2, I manage to
change the Administrator's password and machine's hostname only.

Nothing actually happens when I fill Domain and Organization Unit fields under
Initial Run tab.
What credentials should be used to join the domain? Where do I configure them?

Running oVirt 4.0.5

Thanks,
