Hi Jayme,

It's the ACL bug that hit me some time ago.
It was supposed to be fixed in 6.6 , yet it isn't (even 7.1 & 7.2 is affected). 
For some reason , gluster looses all acl data and thus only root can access the 
gluster shards.
