The button here does not work if you have selected multiple hosts at once.

Actually no, there is nothing that you could do from command line, but you
can still access the dialog by going into:
Compute -> Hosts -> $YOUR_HOST -> Network Interfaces -> Setup Host Networks.

Also there is possibility to do it through REST API.
