One path per controller though its own switch is usually enough. I install multiple links between storage and switches, to increase the bandwidth of that link. But I've never done that between switches and hosts.

So... I use 4 FC cables (2 per controller) connected from Storage to FC Switch. From this FC Switch I connect my hosts with 4 FC cables. The more cables from Storage to Switch, the more throughout you will get. That way I can use multipath. So when I drop an FC cable or a Storage controller, I wouldn't lose connection. In this way it is also possible to use all virtualization technologies, such as LUN migration between Storage and/or Live Migration. An example of multipath: 3600d0231000465cf19190aad44bfbbca dm-14 IFT,DS 4000 Series size=5.0T features='1 queue_if_no_path' hwhandler='1 alua' wp=rw |-+- policy='service-time 0' prio=50 status=active | |- 1:0:2:14 sddv 71:208 active ready running | |- 2:0:2:14 sddm 71:64 active ready running | |- 4:0:2:14 sdek 128:192 active ready running | |- 5:0:2:14 sddw 71:224 active ready running | |- 6:0:2:14 sdes 129:64 active ready running | |- 7:0:3:14 sdgz 132:240 active ready running | |- 8:0:1:14 sdje 8:384 active ready running | `- 9:0:1:14 sdnj 71:336 active ready running `-+- policy='service-time 0' prio=10 status=enabled |- 1:0:3:14 sdhw 134:96 active ready running |- 2:0:3:14 sdgb 131:112 active ready running |- 4:0:3:14 sdko 66:448 active ready running |- 5:0:3:14 sdjm 65:256 active ready running |- 6:0:3:14 sdla 67:384 active ready running |- 7:0:2:14 sdcp 69:208 active ready running |- 8:0:2:14 sdlz 69:272 active ready running `- 9:0:0:14 sdmg 69:384 active ready running _______________________________________________ Users mailing list -- users@ovirt.org To unsubscribe send an email to users-le...@ovirt.org Privacy Statement: https://www.ovirt.org/privacy-policy.html oVirt Code of Conduct: https://www.ovirt.org/community/about/community-guidelines/ List Archives: https://lists.ovirt.org/archives/list/users@ovirt.org/message/GCXM54OUGKHUNBDSII2PZQ6L2E3IMBCH/ _______________________________________________ Users mailing list -- users@ovirt.org To unsubscribe send an email to users-le...@ovirt.org Privacy Statement: https://www.ovirt.org/privacy-policy.html oVirt Code of Conduct: https://www.ovirt.org/community/about/community-guidelines/ List Archives: https://lists.ovirt.org/archives/list/users@ovirt.org/message/WJBQUEKQZC755F5DCZUOW2WYDDP6WDMR/
