Hi,

could you give the latest snapshot a try - that has a better rendering. The 
easiest would be to try with the pdfbox-app from 

https://repository.apache.org/content/groups/snapshots/org/apache/pdfbox/pdfbox-app/2.0.0-SNAPSHOT/

using the PDFToImage command.
