2019-02-02 09:34:29 UTC - Vincent Ngan: One very popular use case for Kafka is to use it as a database replication transmission mechanism, like the Oracle Golden Gate Kafka Handler. Do people here think that this is also a good use case for Pulsar? ---- 2019-02-02 09:39:49 UTC - Ali Ahmed: @Vincent Ngan yes it is kafka is mostly used with debezium for this, 2.3 release of pulsar will have debezium integration ---- 2019-02-02 09:41:01 UTC - Vincent Ngan: :+1: ---- 2019-02-02 15:00:58 UTC - Chris DiGiovanni: @Chris DiGiovanni has joined the channel ---- 2019-02-02 15:03:51 UTC - Chris DiGiovanni: The link to the Tiered Storage Offloaders seems to be dead <https://archive.apache.org/dist/pulsar/pulsar-2.2.1/apache-pulsar-offloaders-2.2.1-bin.tar.gz> ---- 2019-02-02 15:05:23 UTC - Chris DiGiovanni: Trying to rebuild the docker images to add arbitrary uid support, Is it okay to use the 2.2.0 offloaders? ---- 2019-02-02 15:08:03 UTC - Matteo Merli: Hi, thanks for reporting the broken link. Can you also open an issue on github so that we don’t forget to fix it? ---- 2019-02-02 15:08:12 UTC - Chris DiGiovanni: Sure, No problem ---- 2019-02-02 15:08:46 UTC - Matteo Merli: It’s ok to use 2.2.0 — I don’t think there was any offloader specific fix in 2.2.1 patch release ---- 2019-02-02 15:10:22 UTC - Chris DiGiovanni: I looked at the release notes, and scanned through the closed items. I didn't see anything but not that familiar with this project. Thanks for the Saturday response! ---- 2019-02-02 17:16:53 UTC - Joe Francis: We use Pulsar to replicate data across the globe for our proprietary db. Pulsar has much better support for replicating data across datacenters, and the best part .. it comes built-in, nothing else to setup ----
