To add some more details, I found that readers are not actually displayed as Topics under the Pulsar admin dashboard. Does that mean Pulsar does not store any meta information for readers?
For this use case, The Topic can be visualised as some sort of orderid generated from backend, so it will be unique for each user/session the browser websocket client would need to listen on a new topic with every session, consume messages from broker and unsubscribe/close immediately. Will that leave a lot of meta data at pulsar broker, assuming websocket API does not have a unsubscribe/delete topic functionality? Can this be achieved with subscription mode key_shared -Dweep On Fri, Oct 18, 2019 at 11:13 AM Dweep Sharma <[email protected]> wrote: > Hi, > > I have been using redis pub/sub to exchange messages between server and > client(browser), the advantage with redis for short lived messages is the > channels in redis can be unsubscribed and are removed if no longer needed. > > Is there something similar in Pulsar which can delete/unsubscribe a topic > with the websocket API ? > > -Dweep > -- *::DISCLAIMER:: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The contents of this e-mail and any attachments are confidential and intended for the named recipient(s) only.E-mail transmission is not guaranteed to be secure or error-free as information could be intercepted, corrupted, lost, destroyed, arrive late or incomplete, or may contain viruses in transmission.
