Thanks again, that did the trick.

Specifically:
apt-get install liblinearstore
and add
load-module=/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/qpid/daemon/linearstore.so to 
/etc/qpid/qpidd.conf
and
using durable to create queues.

Ubuntu18.04 system.

My guess would be to ensure it is loading the store module
(linearstore?), perhaps investigate the --module-dir and --load-module
options.

however the queue is lost when the qpidd systemd service is restarted. Is there
