Hi Mark, I seem to remember reading about why Adobe chose Cairngorm as the name for that in the past, there was 'a reason' I think, but I can't remember it now!
Generally, in porting work from Flex to Royale, the easiest route is to minimise changes to anything related to the business logic of the app, in order to provide a solid foundation, because usually there is much more work on the UI side. So if it were me, I would try to mirror as much as possible of the original MVC/microarchitecture setup. However if you want to switch to Crux, and that works for you, then great! I will look for the Royale Cairngorm swc tonight my time, and provide that in any case. I think you're not the first one to ask about that, there may be old messages with links either in the dev or users mailing list.
