Found the problem. The org.apache.servicemix.kernel.jaas.boot dependency was missing in the project pom file.

The users.properties files contain same smx=smx,admin entry. The same occurs if I use -u smx -p admin parameters when connecting using servicemix-client.jar Btw, where and how can I define users who can have remote ssh access and their passwords?
