Hi JB,
No, as I mentioned before, Karaf/Servicemix are using different user/
password to authenticate everything(smx/smx for Servicemix but karaf/
karaf for Karaf), so we can't configure it at one place(like acitvemq
feature), we need configure it separately anyway. Like
webconsole.jmx.user=smx
webconsole.jmx.password=smx
for Servicemix
and
webconsole.jmx.user=karaf
webconsole.jmx.password=karaf
for Karaf.

Hi Freeman,
regarding 2, as features is Karaf specific, I think that we can
assume that:
<feature name="activemq" ...>
<config ...>
key = value
</config>
</feature>
is Karaf/ServiceMix targetted. No ?

Hi JB,
Agree with 1, a clear document is always necessary.
About 2, I don't think we can set a "default" <config/> for
activemq-web-console feature, as we can't say "Karaf" or
"Servicemix" is
the default OSGi container, the best place IMO is configure it
separately in Servicemix/Karaf system.properties.

Yes Freeman,
but we need:
1/ to clearly to document this in ActiveMQ
2/ to a "default" <config/> tag in the ActiveMQ feature to set the
properties
WDYT ?

Hi JB,
As Karaf/SMX has different default user/password, so we need
configure
it separately anyway, so put the configuration in activemq
feature.xml
<config> tag cause the configuration bind to a certain OSGi
container,
which isn't the way we can use IMO.
To make it work with karaf, you can just add
#
# Activemq Webconsole configuration
#
webconsole.type=properties
webconsole.jms.url=tcp://localhost:61616
webconsole.jmx.url=service:jmx:rmi:///jndi/rmi://localhost:1099/
karaf-${karaf.name}
webconsole.jmx.user=karaf
webconsole.jmx.password=karaf
to karaf etc/system.properties.

Hi Freeman,
I'm gonna take a look, but ActiveMQ should set a <config/> tag
in the
feature.
In my use case, I tried to install ActiveMQ 5.5.0 (and 5.5.1) on
Karaf
2.2.4. Using ActiveMQ in Karaf (without ServiceMix) should work.

Hi,
I believe SMX4-910[1] already fixed this, for FUSE ESB 4.4.1,
you can
simply edit $FUSE_ESB/etc/system.properties, add properties like
#
# Activemq Webconsole configuration
#
webconsole.type=properties
webconsole.jms.url=tcp://localhost:61616
webconsole.jmx.url=service:jmx:rmi:///jndi/rmi://localhost:1099/
karaf-${karaf.name}
webconsole.jmx.user=smx
webconsole.jmx.password=smx

Hi Andriy,
I saw that too.
In addition of the Claus's Jira, I created a Jira in ActiveMQ:
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/AMQ-3561
I saw others issues with ActiveMQ features:
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/AMQ-3554
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/AMQ-3553
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/AMQ-3552
I will submit a set of patches.

The behavior we observed in both servicemix-4.4.1 from FUSE and
servicemix-4.3.0 from apache.org:
upon an attempt to "feature:install activemq-web-console" we
have
"${activemq.base}" directory created in servicemix home
we assume that something is not correctly set in environment
any ideas on what to correct ?
Thank you in advance,
Andriy F.
