Just to be sure it wasn't a windows-specific issue, I tried installing the same version on a windows 7 virtual machine, but unfortunately, I was unable to reproduce your issue. Could you try running this again with DEBUG logging enabled in the etc/org.ops4j.pax.logging.cfg before starting the container? Perhaps that might help us troubleshoot the problem you're facing. Another thing you could try is switch to equinox as the underlying OSGi framework (in etc/config.properties). And finally, could you also try and send us the output of osg:list -t 0 - that will also show us the status of the core karaf bundles?
