Just wanted to give an update on this; turns out that thing started working
when I used this bundle for JSR-303:


mvn:org.apache.servicemix.specs/org.apache.servicemix.specs.jsr303-api-1.0.0/2.0.0.redhat-60024

rather than the vanilla 2.2.0 version, which hangs.
