Yes - the artifacts produced by the builder project can be used to run 
an instance of Sling, either standalone or inside a servlet container.

The base project produces the Launchpad "framework" which can be used to 
run any OSGi-based application. The content project produces a Sling 
content bundle which provides some initial content.
