Sling is definitely more elegantly architected, but I have to admit the Spring 3 MVC method of creating servlets and serializing/deserializing object from parameters/responses is extremely powerful. It might be interesting to create a framework in Sling allow defining resource based servlets via annotating methods and add support serializing responses and loading parameters from the request.
