I'd put that a bit differently, "stateful content on the server" is perfectly fine, managing a long-lived shopping cart as server-side content for example is perfectly fine. What we recommend against is HTTP sessions, as you indicate, but if said content has a unique URL that's protected by access control you're fine. -Bertrand
