You could stop them upgrading setting a site-preferences.js in
integrator .. This was mentioned on the list in last few days
So is it really so, that even the basic functionality won't work with
TB + Ligthining (viewing / creating events)?
You can create events and view them with Thunderbird 7 and corresponding
lightning. But Sogo connector doesnt work, so you cannot use remote
address books nor subscribe to another users calendar or addr book
