You obviously don't use the cyrus IMAP server within the ZEG, but your own cyrus IMAP server. Your IMAP server does not allow you to connect as cyrus user with the PLAIN password schema, but you request to use this with "--auth plain". Choose a schema that fits your IMAP server.
