My memcache is running with "nobody " user and listening 127.0.0.1 but I get something like "Failed to connect to port 11211" in the log. I guess I must take a deeper look at this :)

What browser do you use? I'm surprise that the invitation window doesn't close.
The 404 is normal. An LDAP group is not dynamically expanded in the Web interface; it will be expanded when saving the event.
