You quote just another mailing list message and that did not go into much detail either. No official tuning docs? You wrote there that one worker process is needed for one ActiveSync user and that one process need between 18 and 50 MB of memory. The process per user is OK ... but 18...50 MB per process is a bit vague. Nevertheless, even with 50 MB, for 100 users that would sum up to only 5 GB which is reasonable. Adding perhaps another 4 GB for the OS and the the other base software (apache, dovecot, postfix, etc.) I would be able to run 100 users with 8..10 GB. This sounds more reasonable than the 25 GB reported. Can you confirm this? However, for 1000 users that would be a span of 24 to 56 GB of RAM ...
