If I got it right user1 has to use user2's calendar to add events on
behalf of user2?

We just tried it:
user1 added an event into user2's calendar --> saved.
The event is added to user2's calender -- good.
user2 is shown as organisator, there are no more attendees. o.k.
It's not visable that user1 did the planning. Not what we expected.

We thought that user2 is the only attendee and user1 is organisator.

If user1 later tries to add herself to the event the change of the
event on the server is denied ("The entry as been changed on the
server recently. Transfer of the changes will overwrite the changes
made on the server". I hope I managed to translate the german error
message back to English). It's not possible to change the event
accordingly.

It seems to be impossible that user1 add herself to this event. If she
does in Thunderbird, before saving the entry user1 is organisator and
has added her successfully as attendee. Afer saving the event user1
disappears as attendee and user2 becomes organizer.

Goal is:
user1 adds events on behalf of user2 and can optionally add herself as
attendee.
