The system that threw the error was unable to validate the certificate supplied by the server that you have called "hostname" here.

If it's not a certificate issued by a public CA, then you will need to provide the root certificate to the system that is making the request so it can validate the certificate. Or turn off certificate validation, which is generally not a good idea.

It would be helpful if you provided the ENTIRE exception (which could be dozens of lines) and the exact versions of Solr and/or SolrJ involved.
